The figurines are made of a special wood mâché which is applied to an armature. Once the material is dry, it is very hard, lends itself to polishing and is also quite light-weight. This is why the figurines themselves are fairly light.
The weather-proof figurines for the garden, however, are made with polyester or epoxy resin - synthetic materials. This allows them to be both durable and light-weight.
Yes, I use exclusively high-grade, light-resistant paints that don't fade.
Yes, if you have something particular in mind or would like to incorporate your own ideas into the figurine, you are welcome to commission a personalized figurine.
If you're not sure what exactly you want, or would like to know what the price might be, just send me an email - there's no commitment. Then we can discuss any questions you might have. Just click on „Contact“.
For small figurines up to about 40cm, it normally takes 2-3 weeks; for sizes 40-60cm, about 4-5 weeks. In urgent cases, it can be hastened. But please keep in mind that the materials I work with always need time to dry.
Large figurines over 60cm need longer - 6-12 weeks, depending upon their design. Also, there are of course times when there's a lot of demand, such as before Christmas, which make for longer waiting periods.
There's no across-the-board answer to that question. The price depends considerably upon whether the figurine is intended to be indoors or outdoors.
In addition, the body posture, painting and design of the base play a role. However, if you have a concrete idea of what you want your figurine to look like, I can gladly give you a definite price.
Prices are based on material and the amount of work required by the dimensions of the figurine and its surface.
The smaller figurines, up to a size of approximately 100cm, are all made by me alone. Every figurine is unique, designed individually and completed with great care. Everything is done by hand.
Only with larger objects does it sometimes happen that I call on the help of assistants and specialist companies.
Due to high demand, the figurines are sometimes sold faster than I can make them. If it takes a while before new articles appear, it's usually because I am busy working on commissions.
It can also be because new figurines are almost ready, but not yet posted in the online shop. You can always contact me by email to request preliminary pictures of new figurines.

My figurines are inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle's Nanas. The artist's original figurines are copyright protected. Before I started my own artistic work in this area, I consulted a specialist lawyer in order to make sure there would be no danger of claims of plagiarism. My works are independent artistic creations and are themselves copyright protected.
It is indeed possible - however, you have to make an appointment beforehand.
A tip: not far from Trier, in neighbouring Luxembourg, there is a large original Nana figurine by Niki de Saint Phalle. You can see this Nana, titled "La grande Tempérance," at any time. It's located at the Place Emile Hamilius on Rue Aldringen in the center of Luxembourg City.
Articles that are ordered via the online shop are all in stock and can be delivered immediately. In the case of credit card payment, the articles can normally be shipped within one working day. If you pay by bank transfer, the articles will be shipped as soon as payment is received.
Because there is always only one of each article, you may find that they are sometimes gone quite quickly because other customers have snapped them up.
